4Mode: Skew Correct

To take pictures in skew correct mode, frame the subject so that it occupies as much of the frame as possible and press the shutter-release button to take the photograph. If the camera detects an object of which perspective can be corrected, the object is shown surrounded by an orange frame. The camera can detect up to five objects; press Fn2 to select a different object, or press + to record the photograph without correcting perspective. If the camera is unable to detect a suitable object, an error message will be displayed and the photograph will be recorded without modification.

Caution

The camera records two images: the unmodified photograph and a copy that has been processed to correct perspective. No photograph will be taken if memory is insufficient to record two images. The camera may be unable to correct perspective if:

The subject is out of focus.

The four edges of the subject are not clearly visible.

There is little contrast between the subject and the background.

The background contains many fine details.

The Ricoh GXR is a unique modular camera system that redefines versatility in photography. Launched by Ricoh, this innovative design sets itself apart from traditional digital cameras by allowing users to switch entire lens and sensor units, called "modules." This approach not only enhances image quality but also provides an opportunity for photographers to adapt their equipment to various shooting conditions.

The Ricoh GXR is particularly known for its seamless integration of advanced imaging technologies. Two notable modules for the GXR are the GR Lens A12 28mm F2.5 and the S10 24-72mm F2.5-4.4. The GR Lens A12 delivers sharpness and clarity, perfect for street photography, landscapes, and portraits, making it highly versatile for professional and amateur photographers alike. Its fast aperture allows for excellent performance in low-light conditions, while the 28mm field of view provides a broad perspective that captures expansive scenes.

On the other hand, the S10 module offers a versatile zoom range of 24-72mm, giving users more flexibility in framing their shots. This zoom capability is ideal for capturing a wide range of subjects from wide-angle landscapes to detailed portraits. Its compact design maintains the portability of the GXR system, making it an excellent companion for travel and everyday photography.

In addition to its excellent optical performance, the Ricoh GXR incorporates advanced imaging technologies. It features a 12-megapixel sensor and supports RAW image formats for photographers who desire more control over post-processing. The camera's high dynamic range ensures that both highlights and shadows are preserved in beautifully balanced photographs, an essential feature for landscape and architectural photography.

The GXR system also boasts intuitive controls, allowing quick adjustments for exposure, ISO settings, and other essential parameters. Its robust build quality ensures durability, making it suitable for various environmental conditions. The camera's lightweight design coupled with its modular nature means that photographers can keep their gear compact without sacrificing creativity.

Overall, the Ricoh GXR system, with its unique modular approach and exceptional image quality, presents an innovative solution for photographers seeking flexibility and precision. Whether capturing everyday moments or exploring new creative avenues, the GXR stands out as a testament to Ricoh's commitment to pushing the boundaries of photographic technology.
