Flash Photography

The flash only fires when it is raised. Press the OPEN/f button to raise the flash, and press the button again to choose from the following flash modes:

	Mode	Description
	Flash Off	The flash is off.

	Auto	The flash fires automatically when required.

	Red-Eye	Reduces “red-eye” in portraits taken with the flash.
	Flash	Reduces “red-eye” in portraits taken with the flash.
	Flash

	Flash On	The flash fires with every shot.

		Combines the flash with slow shutter speeds. Use when
	Flash	taking portraits that include details of the background or
	Synchro.	nightscape. Use of a tripod is recommended to prevent
		blur.

	Manual	The flash fires with every shot. The amount of flash can
	Flash	be set in Manual Flash Amount (page 79).

The effective range of the flash differs depending on the camera unit. See the documentation provided with the camera unit for details.
