NOTE! The VCR is automatically powered ON and OFF by the Power Button on the Power Supply. It is not necessary to use the VCR Power Button.

Video Recording

1.Hook up and turn the system on as described above.

2.Place a tape into the VCR by carefully pushing it in until it is automatically loaded. The VCR cover door may then be closed if desired.

3.Prior to recording, you may want to set-up screen displays using the CountIR. See SeeSnake manual for details.

4.When ready to record, press the large red button on the power supply (the One-Touch record button). The “record light” on the VCR will illuminate, and the word “Rec” will appear on the monitor screen for sev- eral seconds. You can also press the small record button on the VCR, but the button on the power sup- ply is much more accessible.

NOTE! If you do not want to record audio, turn the VOL- UME/AUDIO OFF knob counter-clockwise until it snaps into the off position.

5.To stop recording, simply press the One Touch record button on the power supply again or press STOP on the VCR.

Audio Recording

Audio recording can be done with the internal “hands- free” microphone or a Keyed Microphone (not included).

1.Make sure the Volume/Audio OFF knob is not in the AUDIO OFF position (fully counter-clockwise). This knob can be anywhere in the red band area for Audio Recording. The red audio LED to the lower left of the “hands-free” microphone will be illuminated when the knob is not in the OFF position.

2.Begin recording on the VCR as described above.

3.To record all audio during the recording process, make sure the red LED to the lower left of the “hands- free” microphone is illuminated. To record, simply speak toward the unit. All audio will be recorded. If you do not want any audio to be recorded, turn the Volume Control/Audio OFF knob to the OFF position.

4.If you do not want to record all audio, or you want to eliminate background noise, plug a keyed hand held microphone (not included) into the keyed microphone jacks below the Volume Control/Audio OFF knob. The audio LED will go out until the keyed micro- phone is activated.

NOTE! The LED to the left of the “hands-free” microphone will not be illuminated until the keyed microphone is activated by depressing the key on the side of the microphone.

NOTE! The audio LED to the lower left of the “hands-free” microphone has three settings:

OFF: Volume/Audio OFF knob is in the OFF posi- tion or keyed microphone is plugged in and not activated. No Audio will be recorded.

DIM: Unit is ready to record, but not picking up strong audio signal.

Bright Red: Unit is recording strong audio signal with “hands-free” microphone or activated keyed microphone.

Playing Back a Tape on the

Monitor+VCR

To play a videotape on the Monitor+VCR during the in- spection process, there is no need to disconnect the SeeSnake® .

1.Rewind the videotape.

2.Press PLAY on the VCR. The word “Play” will display on the monitor for several seconds and the monitor will display the contents of the tape.

3.The audio portion of the tape will normally be played through the internal speaker. If a keyed microphone is plugged in, the audio will be played through the keyed microphone speaker.

4.The volume control knob on the power supply adjusts the playback volume.

5.When finished viewing the videotape, press STOP on the VCR. The system will automatically go back to dis- playing the live SeeSnake® camera video.
