Handling a memory card

We recommend that you power off before inserting or removing the memory card to avoid data loss.

We cannot guarantee that you can use memory cards formatted by other devices. When you format a card, be sure to format the memory card using this camcorder.

You must format newly-purchased memory cards, memory cards with data that your camcorder cannot recognize, and cards with data saved by other devices. Note that formatting erases all data on the memory card.

If you cannot use a memory card that has been used with another device, format it with your camcorder. Note that formatting erases all information on the memory card.

A memory card has a certain life span. If you cannot record new data, you have to purchase a new memory card.

Do not bend, drop, or subject the card to strong impacts.

Do not place foreign substances on the memory card terminals. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the terminals if required.

Do not paste anything other than the label provided with the card on the label pasting area of the card.

Do not use a damaged memory card.

Be careful to keep the memory card out of the reach of children who might swallow it.

The camcorder supports SD and SDHC memory cards, giving you a wider choice of cards to choose from!

The data storage speed of cards may differ, depending on the manufacturer and production system.

SLC (single level cell) system: faster write speed enabled.

MLC (multi level cell) system: only lower write speed is supported.

For best results, we recommend using a memory card that supports a faster write speed.

Using a lower write speed memory card for recording video may cause difficulties when storing.

You may even lose your video data during the recording. In an attempt to preserve every bit of the recorded video on a low speed card, the camcorder forcibly stores the video on the memory card and displays a warning:

“Low speed card. Please record at a lower resolution.” If you are unavoidably using a low speed memory card, the resolution and quality of the recording may be lower than the value you set. page 47

The higher the video resolution and quality, the more memory the camcorder uses.

• Samsung is not responsible for data loss due to misuse, including loss caused by any PC virus.

We recommend using a memory card case to avoid data loss that can be caused by moving the card or by static electricity.

After a period of use, the memory card may get warm. This is normal and is not a malfunction.

The Samsung SMX-F530 series, including models SMX-F530BN, SMX-F530RN, SMX-F530SN, and SMX-F530UN, along with the SMX-F50, SMX-F500, and SMX-F54 series, exemplify Samsung's commitment to innovation in the camcorder market. These models cater to both amateur and semi-professional videographers seeking high-quality performance in a lightweight and portable design.

One of the standout features of the SMX-F530 series is its 1/5.8" 1.5 MP CCD sensor, which ensures impressive image quality with vibrant colors and sharp details. This sensor works in concert with Samsung's powerful image processing technology, delivering videos in stunning 1080p resolution. The integrated 20x optical zoom lens allows for excellent subject framing, making it easy to capture distant subjects without significant loss in quality.

The SMX-F50 and SMX-F500 series offer similar specifications but come with additional enhancements like advanced optical image stabilization (OIS). This technology significantly reduces camera shake, enabling smooth video recording, even in dynamic shooting conditions. The OIS feature is particularly beneficial for users who are recording while moving, ensuring their final product remains steady and professional-looking.

Another notable characteristic of these camcorders is their dual memory card slots, which support both SD and SDHC cards. This feature provides ample storage for extended shooting sessions, allowing users to easily switch cards without interrupting their recordings. The user-friendly interface, combined with a robust menu system, enables quick access to various shooting modes, including Night Mode and a range of scene selections, ensuring optimal results in different lighting conditions.

Wireless connectivity options are another highlight, with features such as Wi-Fi capability. This allows users to stream footage to their devices or upload videos directly to social media platforms, enhancing the sharing experience. Additionally, the built-in USB port simplifies data transfer, making it easier to back up footage or share it with friends and family.

With their overall design focused on usability, portability, and advanced imaging technology, the Samsung SMX-F53, SMX-F54, SMX-F50, and SMX-F500 camcorders stand out in the crowded market. Whether capturing precious family moments, documenting travel adventures, or producing creative projects, these camcorders are well-equipped to meet the diverse needs of users while delivering exceptional video quality. This blend of features and technology underscores Samsung’s dedication to creating versatile devices that appeal to video enthusiasts at any level.
