SETTING THE FOCUS MODE

You can choose from the following 2 types of autofocus:

Multi-section focus: The distance to the subject is detected by sampling from multiple areas of the entire shooting screen.

Spot focus: The camera focuses on the subject in the center of the LCD monitor.

1 Display the Shooting Setting Screen (see page 39).

2 Select a focus method from the spot focus menu, and press the SET button.

j: Multi-section focus is selected.

i: Spot focus is selected.

œThis completes the focus method setting.

œWhen the spot focus setting is selected, the focus mark + appears in the center of the LCD monitor.

When the spot focus setting is selected

œTo focus on a specific object, point the camera so that the object matches the focus mark in the center of the LCD monitor, and press the shutter release button halfway. The camera will focus on the subject at the focus mark in the center of the LCD monitor. In this condition, compose the picture and press the shutter release button all the way down to capture the image.

œIt may be difficult to focus if there is little contrast in the subject or if the subject is very small.
