When drillinghard,smooth surfaces, usa a canterpunch
to markthe desiredhole Iocallon. Thiswff!prevent theddl[
bitfrom slippingoff canteras the holeisstarted. How-
ever, thelower speed feature allowsstartingholeswithout
canter punchingifdesired. To accomplishthis, simply
operateyour drillat lower speed untilthe hole Is started.
The matedsito be ddlied shouldbe secured in a vise or
with clamp_to keep It from turningas the drill bIt rotates.
Holdtool firmlyand place the bit at the point tobe drilled.
Depressthe switchtrigger to starttool.
Movethe drill bit into the workpieca,applyingonlyenough
pressureto keepthe bit cutting. Do notforce or apply side
pressureto elongatea hole.

When drillingmetals, usea light oilon the drill bitto keep
it from overheating.The oilwill prolongthe lifeof the bit
and increasethe ddltingaction.
itthe bit jams in workplaceor ifthe drill stalls,release
switchtriggerimmediately,Remove the bit from the
workplaceand determinethe reasonfor jamming.
