Changing Labels
• Tear of f any printed la bels so the lab els are flush w ith the exit slot. P ress and hold t he
button to reverse the labe ls out the back of the printer. DO NOT p ull the label s out
of the printer. Load the new roll as descr ibed on the front of this card.
• To sele ct a different la bel type in th e Smart Label program:
Windows: Choose Prop erties from the Labe l menu or selec t the label ty pe from the
pull-down list at the bottom of the window.
Mac: Choose the label from Templa tes menu
• The print margins ca n be adjusted i f the printing i sn't positio ned properly whe n the
label is printed, particularly on small lab els. To adjust t he margins, ch oose Print from
the Label menu the n click the Setu p button. Click the Advanced tab to adj ust the
print margins.
About Your Labels
• The SLP 420, 430 , 440 and 45 0 can use any of t he SmartLabels ™ provided by Seiko
Instruments. The SLP 410 can use lab els up to 1-1/8 inches ( 28mm) wide. The defa ult
settings for the Smart Label I cons provide examp les of how you might use the diffe rent
label types.
Important: For bes t results we recom mend the use of Seiko Instrume nts SmartLabe ls.
Other brands may n ot be engineered to provide optimum, trouble-free re sults, they
may not work with your SLP or they may damage it and vo id your warranty.

or need additiona l information w hen using your SLP.
To access on-line help, choose He lp Topics from the Help menu.
Save Changes to the Label Format. From the Format menu, select S ave Format. The Save
Format Wizard appears where you can assign a nam e and icon to the format.
Capturing Addresses and Copying Text. Click on the SmartCapture™ i con in the
notification area of the Windows Taskbar to capture addres ses or SmartCopy™ s elected text
from other programs. Some programs may require you to hig hlight the text to be captured
and then click on the SmartCapture icon.
