When the extender is used, the master can be located at a distance of up to 100 m and a power supply is not required at the master end.

Application

The repeater is used to extend the AS-Interface segment by 100 m.

The extender is used to extend the distance between the master and the AS-Interface segment with the AS-Interface slaves to a max. 100 m. A considerably greater cable length than 300 m can be achieved when the repeaters are connected in parallel.

The maximum extension range is 500 m.
