Configuring Advanced Settings

Configuring wireless connections

If PCs are communicating wirelessly via the Gigaset SX763 WLAN dsl, you should also improve the security of your wireless network. This configuration is made via the Advanced Settings – Wireless Network menu. You can carry out the following here:

uActivate the wireless module of the Gigaset SX763 WLAN dsl (for information see below),

uSet up the channel and SSID (page 77),

uSpecify transmission mode and range settings for the wireless network (page 77), u Switch on the repeater function (Wireless Distribution System, WDS)(page 78), u Set up Encryption for wireless transmissions (page 79),

u Restrict access to the LAN of the Gigaset SX763 WLAN dsl (page 85) and ì In the Advanced Settings menu, select Wireless Network.

ìSelect On for the Wireless Network (default setting).

Devices can only log in wirelessly if the WLAN module of the Gigaset SX763 WLAN dsl is activated.

You can now make the settings for the wireless network.

21) ìClick Finish to end the wizard The settings will now be activated on the Gigaset SX763 WLAN dsl Configuring Advanced Settings Page Internet selection ìSelect Internet from the Advanced Settings menu Connection type ADSL Configure multiple connection services ìFor an ADSL connection, make the following settings: Delete ìFor an Ethernet connection, make the following settings: VLAN tag
