mend that all tool service be performed by a
Skil Factory Service Center or Authorized Skil
Service Station. SERVICE MEN: Disconnect
tool and/or charger from power source before
servicing.
BATTERIES
Be alert for battery packs that are nearing
their end of life. If you notice decreased
tool perf orman ce o r s ignif icant ly s horte r
running time between charges then it is time
to replace the battery pack. Failure to do so
can cause the tool to operate improperly or
damage the charger.
(NICKEL-CADMIUM BATTERIES ONLY)
Long term batter y storag e shoul d be in
the disc harged state. Battery packs last
longer and re-charge better when they are
stored d ischarged. R emember to ful ly re-
charg e ba tter y p acks bef ore usin g a fter
prolonged storage.
TOOL LUBRICATION
Your Skil tool ha s been properly lubricated
and is ready for use.
D.C. MOTORS
The motor in your tool has been engineered
for many hours of dependable service . To
maintain peak effici ency of th e moto r, we
recommend it be examined every six months.

specially designed for your tool s hould be
used.

Cleaning

To avoid accidents, always
disconnect the tool and/or
charger fro m th e po wer supply bef ore
cleaning . The tool may be cleane d mos t
effectively with com pressed dry air. Always
wear safety goggles when cleaning tools
with compressed air.
Ventilation openings and switch levers must
be kept clean and free of foreign matter. Do
not a ttempt to clean by inse rting point ed
objects through opening.

plastic parts. Some of these are: gasoline,
car bon tetrach loride, chlo rinated clean ing
solvents, ammonia and household detergents
that contain ammonia.

CAUTION

If an ex ten sio n cord is
nece ssa ry, a c ord w ith
adequate size conductors that is capable
of carrying the current necessary for your
tool m ust b e us ed. This will prevent
excessive voltage drop, loss of power or
overheating. Grounded tools must use 3-
wire extension cords that have 3-prong plugs
and receptacles.
NOTE:The smaller the gauge number, the
heav i er the cord.
