Notes

You can select the surround back decoding only when A.F.D. mode is selected (page 45). In other sound fields, this function is bypassed internally.

Some discs have no Dolby Digital EX flag, even though their packaging may contain a Dolby Digital Surround EX logo. In this case, select “SB MATRIX.”

Selecting the Decode Priority

This function lets you select the decode priority when digital signals are input from the DIGITAL IN (OPTICAL IN/COAXIAL IN) jack, or digital signals are processed in DVD mode.

ENTER

X/x

AMP MENU

1 Press AMP MENU.

Set the function of the remote to DVD, and then press AMP MENU.

2 Press X/x repeatedly until “DEC. PRI.” appears in the front panel display, then press ENTER.

3 Press X/x to select the decode priority you want, then press ENTER or AMP MENU.

The default setting is “PCM.”

When selecting “PCM”

PCM signals are given priority (to prevent the interruption when playback starts). Even when other signals are input, the sound will be output. However, when DTS-CD signals are output, no sound or noise will be heard. In this case, select “AUTO.”

When selecting “AUTO”

The most suitable decode method is automatically selected from DTS, Dolby Digital, or PCM. However, when PCM signal playback starts, sound will not be output initially.

Tip

As long as DVD mode is selected, you can play DTS- CD even if “PCM” is selected.
