xAUDIO DRC (AUDIO DYNAMIC RANGE COMPRESSION)

Narrows the DYNAMIC range of the sound track.

Useful for watching movies at low volume late at night.

OFF	No compression of DYNAMIC
	range.
STANDARD	Reproduces the sound track with the
	kind of DYNAMIC range that the
	recording engineer intended.
MAX	Narrows the DYNAMIC range
	fully.

Note

DYNAMIC range compression only applies to Dolby Digital sources.

xDATA CD PRIORITY (MP3, JPEG only)

Set priority data you want to play, when you play a DATA CD (CD-ROM/CD-R/CD-RW) containing MP3 audio tracks and JPEG image files.

MP3	If an MP3 file exists on a disc, the
	receiver recognises the disc as an
	“MP3 Disc.” If only JPEG files exist
	on the disc, the receiver recognises
	the disc as a “JPEG Disc.”
JPEG	If a JPEG file exists on the disc, the
	receiver recognises the disc as a
	“JPEG Disc.” If only MP3 files exist
	on the disc, the receiver recognises
	the disc as an “MP3 Disc.”

Notes

•When you play multi-session CDs, the receiver decides a target to play for the last session or session linked with the last session.

•If you change this setting, reinsert the disc.

xJPEG DATE

Change the date information order of a JPEG image in the Control Menu.

Settings for the Speakers

(SPEAKER SETUP)

To obtain the best possible surround sound, set for the size of the speakers you have connected and their distance from your listening position. Then use the test tone to adjust the level and the balance of the speakers to the same level.

Select “SPEAKER SETUP” in the setup display. For details, see “Using the Setup Display” (page 66).

The default settings are underlined.

xSIZE

If you use small speakers, do not connect a center, surround speakers, or surround back speaker, or move the surround speakers, set the parameters for FRONT, CENTER, SURROUND, SURROUND BACK, and

SUBWOOFER.

FRONT	LARGE: Normally select this.
	SMALL: Select this if small
	speakers are used for the front
	speaker.
CENTER	LARGE: Normally select this.
	SMALL: Select this if small
	speakers are used for the center
	speaker.
	NONE: Select this if no center
	speaker is used.
