Adjusting the sound characteristics

Youcanadjustthebass,treble,balanceand fader.

Youcanstorethebassandtreblelevels independentlyforeachsource.

1 Select the item you want to adjust by pressing (SOUND) repeatedly.

VOL (volume) nSUB (subwoofer volume)

nBAS (bass) nTRE (treble)

nBAL (left-right) nFAD (rear-front)

2 Adjust the selected item by rotating the dial.

Adjustwithinthreesecondsafterselecting theitem.(Afterthreeseconds,thedial functionrevertsvolumecontrol.)

Attenuating the sound

Press (ATT) on the rotary commander or optional wireless remote.

“ATTon”flashesmomentarily.

Torestorethepreviousvolumelevel,press (ATT)again.

Tip

The unit decreases the volume automatically when a telephone call comes in (Telephone ATT function).

Changing the sound and display settings

Select“Auto”todimthedisplayonly whenyouturnthelightson.

Select“on”todimthedisplay.

Select“off”todeactivateDimmer.

•Contrast-toadjustthecontrastifthe indicationsinthedisplayarenot recognisablebecauseoftheunit’sinstalled position.

•Voiceguidefunctionforvocalisedcomments.

Select“Voice1”tominimisethevolume oftheguide.

Select“Voice2”tobelouderthevolume than“Voice1.”

Select“Voice3”tomaximisethevolume oftheguide.

Select“Voiceoff”todeactivateVoice guide.

•Beep-toturnonoroffthebeeps.

•RM(RotaryCommander)-tochangethe operativedirectionofthecontrolsofthe rotarycommander.

Select“norm”tousetherotary commanderasthefactory-setposition.

Select“rev”whenyoumounttherotary commanderontherightsideofthe steeringcolumn.

•Loud(Loudness)-toenjoybassandtreble evenatlowvolume.Thebassandtreblewill bereinforced.

1 Press (SHIFT).

2 Press (3) (SET UP) repeatedly until the desired item appears.

Each time you press (3) (SET UP), the item changesasfollows:

*When you have not tune the station or there is no CD/MD being played, these items will not appear.

3 Press (5) (n) to select the desired setting (for example: on or off).

Forthe“Contrast”setting,pressing (5) (n)makesthecontrasthigher,and pressing (2)(N)makesthecontrastlower.

4 Press (SHIFT).

Afterthemodesettingiscomplete,the displayreturnstonormalplaybackmode.
