Error displays/Messages

*1 When an error occurs during playback of a CD , the

disc number of the CD does not appear in the

display.

*2 The disc number of the disc causing the error

appears in the display.

If these solutions do not help improve the

situat io n, consult yo ur nearest Sony de aler.

The “ST” indication flashes.

•Tune in th e fr equency accurately.

•The broadcast si gnal is too w eak.

A programme broadcast in stereo is heard

in monaur a l.

The unit is in monaural reception mode.

RDS

The SEEK starts after a few seconds of

listening.

The station is no n- TP or has wea k signal.

tPress (AF) or (TA) repeatedly until “AF-

OFF” or “TA-OFF” ap pears.

No traffic announcements.

•Activate “TA.”

•The station does not broadcast any traffic

announcements despi te bei ng TP.

tTune in another station.

PTY displays “--------.”

•The current station is not an RDS station.

•RDS dat a ha s not bee n received.

•The stat i on does no t sp ecify the program me

type.

Error displays

The following indications will flash for about 5

seconds, and an alarm sound wil l b e heard.

ERROR*1

A CD is dirty or inserted upside down.*2

tClean or insert the CD correc tly.

HI TEMP

The ambient temperature is more than 50°C.

tWait until the temperature goes down

below 50°C.

RESET

The unit ca nnot be op er at ed becau se of some

problem.

tPress the RE SET button on the u n it.
