Automatic retuning for best

AF functio n

The alte rnative freque ncies (AF) function allows
the radio to always tune into the areas strongest
signal for the statio n you are l is t ening to .
1Select an FM station (page 11).
2Press (AF) repeatedly until AF-ON
appears.
The unit starts searching for an alternative
frequency wit h a s tr onger si gnal in th e same
network.
If NO AF flashes, the currently tuned into
station does not have an alternative frequency.
Note
When there is no alternative frequency in the area or
when you do not need to search for one, turn the AF
function off by selecting AF-OFF.

For stations without alternativ e

frequencies

Press either side of (SEEK) while the
station name is flashing (within 8
seconds).
The unit starts searching for another
frequency with the same PI (Programme
Identification) data (PI SEEK appears) .
If the unit cannot f in d the same PI, the unit
retur ns to the previously selected frequency.

Staying with one regional programme

When A F f unction is on: t hi s units factory-set
settin g restricts reception to a specific region, so
you wont be switched to another regional station
with a stronger frequency.
If you leave this regi onal pro grammes recept ion
are a or w oul d l ik e to ta ke ad v a ntag e of th e wh ole
AF function , select REG-OFF fr om the MENU
(pag e 19).
Note
This function does not work in the United Kingdom
and in some other areas.

Local Link function

(United Kingdom only)

This function enables you to select other loca l
stations in the area, ev en if they are not stored on
your number buttons.
1Press a number button ((1) to (6)) that
has a local station stored on it.
2Within 5 seconds, press the number
button of the local station again.
3Repeat this procedure until the desired
local station is received.
Frequencies change automatically.
