Topic: Why doesn't my CD-RW drive record at the highest speed?

You must use 8x CD-RW or 12x CD-R media to achieve optimum performance.

If you must use other media and are having difficulty formatting non-8x CD-RW media, change the write speed from 8x to a lower setting. To change the write speed from the default to a lower speed:

1From the Start menu, select Programs, select Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 and then click Create CD.

2Click Audio and then click Audio CD.

3From the Tools menu, click CD Drive Properties. The CD Drive Properties dialog box appears.

4From the Write Speed drop-down list, select a lower setting.

5Click Close.
