Front panel

Buttons on the recorder have the same function as the buttons on the remote if they have the same or similar names.

Open the panel.

A@/1 (on/standby) button/ indicator (23)

Turns the recorder on and off. Lights up in green when the power is on.

BFront panel display (14, 44)

Displays the playing status, title/chapter/time, etc.

CDisc tray (23)

Opens to accept a disc.

D (remote sensor)

Accepts the remote control signal.

EDisc type indicators

Lights up to indicate the disc/ format type of the current disc.

FA (open/close) button (23)

Opens or closes the disc tray.

GH (play) button/indicator (37)

Plays a disc.

HX (pause) button/indicator (39)

Pauses playing a disc.

Ix (stop) button (37)

Stops playing a disc.

Jz REC button/indicator (23)

Starts recording.

KX REC PAUSE button/indicator (23)

Pauses recording.

Lx REC STOP button (23)

Stops recording.

MTIMER REC indicator (25)

Lights up when a timer recording is set.

SYNCHRO REC indicator (31)

Lights up when the Synchro Rec function is set to on.

FINALIZED indicator (34)

Lights up if an inserted disc has been finalized.

SMARTLINK indicator

Lights up when a connected SMARTLINK compliant device, such as a TV, is turned on.

NZOOM +/– buttons (15)

Switches the information displayed in the Title List menu.

OCURSOR MODE button (16)

Switches the cursor/page mode in the Title List, etc.

PTOOL button (16)

Displays the Tool menu.

Q</M/m/,/ENTER button (16)

Selects items or settings.

RRETURN button (16)

Returns to the previously selected display, etc.

SSYSTEM MENU button (15)

Displays the System Menu on the TV screen.

TONE TOUCH DUB button (61)

Records the contents of a DV/ Digital8 format tape with a single touch of the button.

UREC MODE button (23)

Selects the recording mode.

V./> (previous/next) buttons (39)

Goes to the next title/chapter/ track, or goes back to the previous title/chapter/track.

WPROGRAM +/– buttons (23)

Selects the programme position or input line.

XTITLE LIST button (15, 40, 51)

Displays the Title List menu on the TV screen.

YINPUT SELECT button (23, 59, 71)

Selects equipment connected to the line inputs.

ZLINE 2 IN (S VIDEO/VIDEO/ AUDIO L/R) jacks (71)

Connects external equipment.

wj DV IN jack (59)

Connects digital equipment with a DV jack.
