Settings (Basic Settings)

The Settings Setup helps you to make fundamental settings for the recorder. Since you will have already made the settings here when setting up the recorder, see “Advanced Hookups and Settings” in the separate booklet, “Hookups and Settings” to make changes to the items below.

Select “Settings” in the Setup Display. To use the display, see “Using the Setup Displays” (page 74).

The default settings are underlined.

Channel Setting

Sets contents for each of the programme positions. Press PROG +/– to select a programme position you want to set up, then set the following items if necessary.

CATV Select this if the programme position is for Cable TV.

Channel Set

Sets the channel number.

Station Name

Enters/Re-enters the station name.

PAY-TV/CANAL+

On

Select this if the programme position is for PAY

 

TV or Canal Plus.

 

 

Off

Normally, select this.

 

 

Audio

Sets the sound for the programme position.

NICAM Normally, select this.

Standard Select this if the sound from NICAM

broadcasts is not clear.

AFT

Turns on or off the Auto Fine Tuning function.

On

Displays the current time and date.

You can input the current time and date when “Auto Adjust” is set to “Off.”

Language

OSD (On-Screen Display)

Switches the display language on the screen.

DVD Menu

Switches the language for the DVD menu.

Audio

Switches the language of the sound track.

When you select “Original,” the language given priority in the disc is selected.
