You can use the Commander with other major brand preset AV components also. To use with other AV components, or Sony components which do not function with the Commander, you need to follow the procedures to set the correct codes for each component.

An MD player and a DAV can be set to any of the above Component Select buttons. You can assign Component Select buttons to freely set signals of your desired components. For further information, see “Assigning Other Components to the Component Select Buttons” (page 33) .
