On safety
•Caution — The use of optical instruments with this product will increase eye hazard.
•Should any solid object or liquid fall into the cabinet, unplug the CD Receiver and have it checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further.
•Do not disassemble the cabinet as this may result in an electrical shock. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
On power sources
•Before operating the CD Receiver, check that the operating voltage of the CD Receiver is identical with your local power supply. The operating voltage is indicated on the nameplate at the rear of the CD Receiver.
•The CD Receiver is not disconnected from the AC power source (mains) as long as it is connected to the wall outlet, even if the CD Receiver itself has been turned off.
•If you are not going to use the CD Receiver for a long time, be sure to disconnect the CD Receiver from the wall outlet. To disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead), grasp the plug itself; never pull the cord.
•AC power cord (mains lead) must be changed only at the qualified service shop.
On placement
•Place the CD Receiver in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat
•Do not place the CD Receiver on a soft surface such as a rug that might block the ventilation holes on the bottom.
•Do not place the CD Receiver in a location near heat sources, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust or mechanical shock.
On operation
•If the CD Receiver is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is placed in a very damp room, moisture may condense on the lenses inside this unit. Should this occur, the unit may not operate properly. In this case, remove the CD and leave the CD Receiver turned on for about an hour until the moisture evaporates.
•Before connecting other components, be sure to turn off and unplug the CD Receiver.
On adjusting volume
•Do not turn up the volume while listening to a portion with very low level inputs or no audio signals. If you do, the speakers may be damaged when a peak level portion is played.
On cleaning
•Clean the cabinet, panel and controls with a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder or solvent such as alcohol or benzine.
On transportation
• Be sure to remove the CD.
On repacking
•Do not throw away the carton and the packing material. This makes an ideal container when transporting the CD Receiver. When shipping the CD Receiver, repack it as it was packed at the factory.
