2While holding down the button corresponding to the component, press down the function button whose setting is to be changed (the AUX function button, for example).

The AUX function button is now set to control the Sony LD player.

To reset a button to its factory setting

Repeat the procedure above.

To reset all function buttons to their factory settings

Press down ?/1, AV ?/1and MASTER VOLUME – simultaneously, or uninstall the batteries once and press any key, then install them again.

Operating Non-Sony

Components

You can program the remote to control non-Sony components. Once the control signals have been memorized, you can use those components as part of your system.

Note, however, that the settings of the DVD and TUNER function buttons cannot be changed.

1Press IR SET.

2Press the function button for the component you want to control.

For example, if you are going to control an LD player, press AUX.

The function button lights up.

3Press the number buttons to enter the numeric code (or one of the codes if more than one code exist) corresponding to the component and the make of the component you want to control.

See the tables on pages 61 and 62 for information on the numeric code(s) corresponding to the component and the make of the component.

4Press ENTER.

When the function button goes off, the component(s) can then be controlled using this remote.

5Repeat Steps 1 to 4 to control other components.

If the function button flashes three times consecutively, the programming has failed. Check that the numeric codes corresponding to the component and the make of the component are correct. Start again from Step 1.

If you do not do Step 2 within twenty seconds after pressing the IR SET button in Step 1, the remote automatically exits learning mode. Start again from Step 1.
