Select italic characters

Mode ASCII Decimal Hexadecimal

Causes subsequent characters to be printed in italics.

Select upright characters

Stops italic printing and causes subsequent characters to be printed

upright.

Emphasized printing

Causes subsequent characters to be emphasized by adding extra

thickness to vertical strokes.

Cancel emphasized printing

Cancels emphasized printing.

Double-s trike printing

Causes subsequent characters to be printed in double-strike mode

with a slight vertical paper motion in between, causing a thickening

of horizontal strokes.

For bold print, use of double-strike is recommended in LQ mode,

and combined use of emphasized and double-strike is recom-

mended in draft mode.
