4 pork steaks
14-1/2 oz. hominy, drained
1 small onion, chopped
4 oz. can diced green chili peppers, drained
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. chives, chopped
Combine hominy with onion, chili peppers , chili powder and chives in bottom of crock.
Trim fat from pork steaks and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Arrange pork steaks over
hominy. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours. SERVES: 4
GLAZED CARROTS3 cups carrots, sliced
2 cups water
3 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. orange marmalade
2 Tbsp. sliced almonds
1 tsp. salt
Combine carrots, water and salt in crock. Cover and cook on high 2 to 3 hours.
Drain well. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook another 20 to 30 minutes,
activating stirring paddle or stirring occasionally. SERVES: 4 – 6
ROUND STEAK2 pounds round steak
1-1/2 oz. onion soup mix
1/4 cup water
10 oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup
Cut steak into 5 serving-size pieces. Place in crock. Add dry onion soup mix,
water and cream of mushroom soup. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
Serve over mashed potatoes. SERVES: 5
