Trigger Application

The Trigger application provides the capability for hard (physical) s can trigger support for
one of the five applications buttons on the iPAQ (see iPAQ Pocket PC Parts Used by the
SPS 3000 on page 1-3). By default, the button used to Trigger the scanner is se t to the
"Record (Button 5)" application button. This can be changed at any time on the Buttons
screen.
To change the scan trigger:
•Tap Start\Settings\Buttons to set a different button to "Trigger."
When the Trigger application is launched, it resides in the tray at the bottom of the
Today screen (see Figure 4-2 on page 4-3) and the Trigger About dialog box displays.

To proceed, t ap Hide to hide the dialog, or press the Trigger button again. If you do not want
the About box displayed when Trigger loads, uncheck the Show this dialog on start up
option.
In addition to mimicking hard trigger functionality, you can set the Trigger applicatio n to
automatically launch registered scanning application s. This feature presents an intuitive
way of running scanning applications. When the user presses the hard trigger button, the
Trigger application loads, if not already loaded, and launches a scanning applica tion, if set
to do so.
