1Synchronize the two decks using tempo sync, as described above. The TEMPO SYNC key on the slave deck should be lit.

2With both decks playing, press the BEAT SYNC key Q on the slave unit before you start the

cross-fade between decks.

The BEAT SYNC key will flash until the decks are “beat synced”. After the beat sync has locked, the BEAT SYNC key will light steadily.

The scratch function allows you to do scratch play- back, like an analog record turntable.

NOTE

Note that in the A-B loop mode (3.4.2, “A-B loop play mode”) and the single loop mode, the scratch func- tion cannot be used.

Press the SCRATCH key V to enable the scratch mode (the key will light).

Use the dial for scratch playback, whether the deck is paused or playing back.

4.8.1Cancellation of beat sync

Beat sync mode is cancelled under the following conditions:

If the TEMPO SYNC key or the BEAT SYNC key is pressed on the master deck.

If the TEMPO SYNC key or the BEAT SYNC key is pressed on the slave deck.

The TEMPO slider is moved on the slave deck.

The dial is used to set the BPM value on the master deck.

If beat sync is lost, it is necessary to set up the beat sync again using the BEAT SYNC key.

The “scratch area” is for five seconds “behind” the current position. The “forward” direction does not have this limitation.

To make seamless transition from scratch play to normal playback, press the SCRATCH key to turn off the scratch mode, while completing the scratch.

4.10 Memories

The CD-302’s memory function allows the storage of up to 1000 memories. There are 5 banks (A to E) with each bank having 200 memories.

The space for these memories is shared between the two decks, so if one player has used 1,000 memories,
