B5. Digital Handset Station Setup
Start a Maintenance Session. Press +(More) and then press 1
(Station Setup) to view the current station setting. Press the number
corresponding to the desired mode.
1 - Cockpit The difference between a cockpit station and a cabin
station is the billing mode. See Section VI,B3.
2 - Cabin Normal handset mode.
3 - Fax A mode that allows for direct dialing from a fax
machine or fax-equipped PC. Does not require any
handset operations. The initial digit (3) is also not
required.
4 - Modem A mode that allows for direct dialing from a modem
or modem equipped PC. Does not require any handset
operations. The initial digit (4) is also not required.
5 - TDD Similar to modem. Accommodates TDD
(Telecommunications Device for the Deaf)
6 - PC Same as for fax/modem, except the service selection
digit 3(Fax) or 4(Modem) is required. This mode
accommodates users of PCs where both fax and
modem use is desired.
NOTE: Only one handset may be designated as a “Fax,” “Modem,”“TDD,”
or “PC”station at a time. Designating a second station as one of these
automatically unassigns the first. (The other handsets remain available
for normal fax,modem, and TDD services.)
B6. Station Ringer On/Off Control
The digital handset ringer can be either activated or disabled.
To activate/deactivate ringer:Start a Maintenance Session. Press +
(More) and then press 2(Enable/Disable Ringer) to set the ringer to
the desired setting. This step also affects the Call Alerter Switch (CAS)
in the same manner.
