OPERATION

8.1 Starting the Tractor

The procedure to start the tractor is model specific. Refer to the tractor operator’s manual for starting procedures for your particular tractor. Consult an authorized dealer for additional assistance on starting and operating the tractor.

To start the tractor the Joystick Master Switch must be in the OFF position.

DANGER! Start tractor only when properly seated in the Tractor seat with transmission in neutral. Starting a tractor in gear can result in injury or death. Read the Tractor operators manual for proper starting instructions.

8.2 Brake and Differential Lock Setting

Make sure the tractor brakes are in good operating condition. Tractor brakes can be set to operate independently allowing single rear wheel braking action or locked together to provide simultaneous rear wheel braking. FOR MOST DRIVING AND MOWING CONDITIONS, THE BRAKE PEDALS SHOULD BE LOCKED TOGETHER TO PROVIDE THE MOST EFFECTIVE BRAKING ACTION.

WARNING! Be aware of the operating conditions. Do not operate the Tractor with weak or faulty brakes. When operating down a hill or on wet or rain slick roads, the braking distance increases; use extreme care and reduce your speed in these conditions. When operating in traffic, always use the Tractor’s flashing warning lights and reduce your speed. Be aware of traffic around you and watch out for the other guy.

Always disengage the tractor differential lock when turning. When engaged the differential lock will prevent or limit the tractor from turning. During normal cutting conditions, locking the differential provides no benefit and should not be used.
