ROTARY HEAD INSPECTION
• Inspect blades and blade bolts for looseness
and excessive wear. Rotate to 90° to make
for checking easier. Replace damaged, worn,
and missing blades as complete sets to
maintain rotary balance.
• Ensure motor bolts and nuts are tightened to
the appropriate torque.
• Ensure rubber deflectors are in position and
not damaged. Replace worn, broken, and
missing sections immediately.
• Ensure hydraulic lines are properly connected
to the hydraulic motor. Check for hydraulic
leaks along hoses and fittings. DO NOT use
your hands to check for oil leaks. Use a piece
of heavy paper or cardboard to check for
hydraulic oil leaks.
• Inspect the condition of deck skid shoes and hardware. OPS-B- 0025
Do not put hands or feet under mower decks. Blade Contact can result
in serious injury or even death. Stay away until all motion has stopped
and the decks are securely blocked up. (SGM-09)
All Safety Shields, Guards and other safety devices including (but not limited to) -
Deflectors, Steel Guards and Gearbox Shields must be used and maintained in good
working condition. All safety devices should be inspected carefully at least daily for missing
or broken components. Missing, broken, or worn items must be replaced at once to reduce
the possibility of injury or death from thrown objects, entanglement, or blade contact. (SSM-07)
