Using SD® (Secure Digital) cards

❖Do not remove a SCSI card while any of the SCSI devices

connected to it are operating.

Before removing a PC Card, stop it by clicking the Safely

Remove Hardware icon on the System tray. After the PC Card is

stopped, it is safe to remove.

Using SD® (Secure Digital) cards

If you do not already have a SD card inserted in the computer, you

may do so following the procedures outlined in “Inserting an

SD®card” on page 159.

Important: Do not use the Copy Disk function for SD cards. In

order to copy data from one SD card to another, use the following

procedure:

1Format the target SD card in the same format as the source SD

card.

2Insert the source SD card.

3Create a temporary folder on the hard disk drive.

4Copy the contents of the source SD card into the temporary

folder you created in step 3.

5Remove the source SD card.

6Insert the target SD card created in step 1.

7Copy the file contents from the temporary folder to the target

SD card.

8Eject the target SD card.

Display problems The display is blank. The screen does not look right. The built-in screen flickers. Disk drive problems You are having trouble accessing a disk, or one or more files appear to be missing. Error-checking Your hard disk seems very slow. Your data files are damaged or corrupted. Some programs run correctly but others do not. A diskette will not go into the external diskette drive. The computer displays the Non-system disk or disk error message. The drive cannot read a diskette. DVD-ROM or Multifunction drive problems You cannot access a disc in the drive. You press the disc eject button, but the drive tray does not slide out. Some discs run correctly, but others do not. WinDVD problems: general issues WinDVD controls are disabled. Playback performance is poor. The Root or Title menu does not open. WinDVD performance decreases after making a system change. Slow playback performance. WinDVD problems: content issues WinDVD will not function properly with debug software installed.
