Appendix A. LED information

Your IBM 11a/b/g Wireless CardBus Adapter provides two Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), a Power LED, and a Network LED. These LEDs indicate power and activity status of the CardBus Adapter.

Slow blink

OFF

Power Save Mode: The CardBus Adapter enters

 

 

this mode after power-up or reset.

 

 

 

ON

Awake Mode: The CardBus Adapter

 

 

automatically enters this mode after exiting from

 

 

power save mode. Changes from power save

 

 

mode to this mode might not be visible on the

 

 

LEDs if the software assumes control of the LED

 

 

blinking by writing to the PCI configuration

 

 

register.

 

 

 

Alternate blink

Alternate blink

CardBus Adapter is looking for a network

 

 

association.

 

 

 

Slow blink

Slow blink

CardBus Adapter is associated with a network,

 

 

but no activity is occurring.

 

 

 

Fast blink

Fast blink

CardBus Adapter is associated with a network

 

 

and activity is occurring. Blink rate increases as

 

 

activity increases on the network, over the air, or

 

 

locally on the network device, based on the

 

 

setting of the PCI configuration register.
