2.Press the right mouse button and click Launch Client Utility. The following window opens.

Understanding the IBM Client Utility menu commands

The IBM Client Utility window contains menus at the top and tabs below. You use these menus and tabs to perform various operations. You can use the menus to perform the following actions:

vThe Action menu lets you enable or disable the radio frequency signal, display or remove the IBM Client Utility icon in your System Tray, and exit the IBM Client Utility.

vThe Options menu lets you view and change display settings.

vThe Help menu lets you access the online help facility, and display the build date and product version of the IBM Client Utility.

The IBM Client Utility window menus contains the following tabs:

vThe Current Status tab is a read-only tab that shows general information about your wireless network.

vThe Profile Management tab lets you add, edit, remove, and activate profiles.

vThe Diagnostics tab is a read-only screen that displays transmit and receive statistics and device driver information.

Enabling or disabling the radio frequency signal

You can select Disable Radio in the Action menu to turn off the radio-frequency signal from the CardBus Adapter to the nearest access point so that all communication to and from your CardBus Adapter is stopped. To resume radio-frequency signals from the Cardbus Adapter, select Enable Radio.

Enabling or disabling the tray icon

Select Disable Tray Icon in the Action menu, to prevent the IBM Client Utility from displaying in your System Tray. If you disable the tray icon, you can access the IBM Client Utility by clicking the Start button in the Windows taskbar, pointing to Programs, pointing to IBM 11abg Wireless, and then clicking Configuration Utility. Click the Enable Tray icon to redisplay the icon in the system tray.
