acidic water or water with a lot of sediment in it, such as muddy or turbid (cloudy) water. After operating in such water, flush the cooling passages with fresh water to prevent corro- sion. Also rinse the outside of the outboard motor with fresh water.
4.To return the outboard motor to the nor- mal running position, place the gear shift lever in neutral.
5.Place the tilt lock lever in the lock/down position, then slightly tilt the outboard mo- tor up until the tilt support bar automati- cally returns to the free position.

6.Slowly lower the outboard motor to the
normal position.

Cruising in salt water
