Solutions to Common Problems

Be sure to check the points below if CinemaStation doesn’t seem to be working normally for you. If you notice something wrong that is not listed below and you have already tried some solutions with no success, turn off the CinemaStation power, remove the power plug from the outlet and contact the store where you purchased the product or your nearest YAMAHA sound products service center and ask for assistance.

General Problems

Power turns on but immediately shuts off.

Cause1 The power plug is not completely plugged in.

Cause5 Sound is muted.

Solution Press MUTE or VOLUME +/- to regain the sound and adjust the volume to your liking.

Solution Insert the plug into the outlet firmly.

Cause2 Speaker cable is shorted. When power is turned on, the protective circuit engages and shuts the system down.

Solution

Make sure that all speaker cables are

 

correctly connected.

Cause3 CinemaStation received a strong, external electric shock such as from a lightening bolt or excessive static electricity.

Solution

Put CinemaStation in standby, pull out the

electric cord then wait for about 30 seconds

 

 

before reinserting the cord and turning on

 

the power again.

Cause4 The system cable is not connected properly. Solution Connect the system cable securely.

No sound.

Cause1 You did not connect the cable properly. Solution Check your connections.

Cause2 The source you selected is not suitable for playback.

Solution Choose the correct source using the Input Selection buttons.

Cause3 You did not connect the Speaker cable properly.

Solution Check your speaker connections.

Cause4 You turned the sound volume down. Solution Turn the sound volume up.

Cause6 You inserted a CD-ROM that CinemaStation cannot play.

Solution Play a source signal that CinemaStation can play.

No picture.

Cause

You did not connect the cable properly.

Solution

Check your connections.

 

The audio suddenly decreased.

 

 

Cause

The Sleep Time function started working.

Solution Turn the power back on and try playing the source again.

Sound is too low on one side.

Cause You did not connect the cable properly. Solution Check your connections.
