Operation

1.Use a 50:1
2.Start the engine. Leave it idling.
WARNING! Do not touch or remove electrical parts when starting or dur- ing operation. Keep hands, hair, and clothes away from the flywheel and other rotating parts while the engine is running. [EWM00091]
3.Watch for oil flowing through the oil feed pipes. After any air in the oil lines has been expelled, the oil injection system should supply oil normally. If no oil is flowing after 10 minutes of idling, consult your Yamaha dealer.

Be sure to take the above steps when operating the engine after a long period of storage. Otherwise engine seizure could occur.

Install cowling1.Be sure that all cowling lock levers are released.
2.Be sure that the rubber seal is seated all the way around the engine.
3.Place the cowling on top of the seal.
4.Check to be sure the rubber seal fits cor-
rectly all the way around the engine.
5.Move the levers to lock the cowling as shown. NOTICE: If the cowling is not installed correctly, water spray under the cowling can damage the engine, or the cowling can blow off at high

After installing, check the fitting of the top cowling by pushing it with both hands. If the top cowling is loose, have it repaired by your Yamaha dealer.
