INPUT ASSIGNMENT (Input assignment)

You can assign the optical and coaxial digital input jacks of this unit to other components if this unit’s initial settings do not correspond to your needs. By assigning other components to the input jacks on this unit, you can display the name of the connected component in the front panel display and OSD (see page 20), and operate the component with the input selector button of the same name. If you connect a component to this unit’s input jacks and do not assign it, the default component name for that input jack is displayed in the front panel and OSD when selected.

OPTICAL IN(1) assigns components to the TV OPTICAL IN jack of this unit.

INPUT MODE (Input mode)

Use this feature to designate the input mode for sources connected to the DIGITAL INPUT jacks when you turn on this unit. For information on the types of audio signals that can be output by this unit, see “Surround Modes and Recommended Usages” on page 32.

Select AUTO to allow this unit to automatically detect the type of input signal and select the appropriate input mode.

Select LAST to set this unit to automatically select the last input mode used for that source. If the type of input signal is different from the setting, no sounds will be produced.)

INPUT RENAME (Input rename)

Use this feature to change the name of the inputs on the OSD and front panel display. Press an input selector button (TV, DVD, VCR, or AUX) to select the component you want to change the name for, then perform the following procedure.
