Cable Diagnostics
This chapter explains the Cable Diagnostics screen.
14.1 Diagnostics Overview
The cable diagnostics function works with systems using
The switch can perform basic cable diagnostics. Click Cable Diagnostic in the navigation panel to view the screen as shown.

Port to diagnose | Select the port you want to test. |

Apply | Click this to perform cable testing on the specified port. |

Diagnostic for Port | This field displays the number of wired pairs the port is communicating over. |

Status | This field displays the results of the test: |
| Ok - the cable is working properly. |
| Open - there is no cable connected to the port or the cable is damaged. |
| Short - there is a short along the cable. |

Pair A .. Pair D | This field displays the whether the twisted pair has a good connection - Ok, or it |
| displays the type of fault the switch has detected: Open, Short or Short- |
| |
| distance to the detected fault depending whether the cable tested Ok or a fault |
| was found. |
