Moving the lever upward will increase the tilling depth. The lowest notch allows a tilling depth of approximately 6”, depending on soil conditions. For best results, always begin tilling at a very shallow depth setting and gradually increase the tilling depth.

WARNING: Do not attempt to till too deeply too quickly. Gradually work down to deeper tilling depths.

Place the Depth Regulator Lever in the “travel” position before starting the engine. This position prevents the tines from touching the ground until you are ready to begin tilling.

Failure to follow this warning could result in personal injury or property damage.

HANDLEBAR HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

The handlebar height is adjustable to three different settings (Figure 3-6). In general, adjust the handlebars so they are at waist level when the tines are 3”-4” in the soil.

To adjust the handlebars:

1.Stop engine, disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug and allow engine to cool.

2.Remove hardware, reposition handlebars, and reinstall hardware securely.

Be sure no one other than the operator is standing near the tiller while starting engine or operating the unit. Never run engine indoors or in enclosed, poorly ventilated areas. Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, an odorless and deadly gas. Keep hands, feet, hair and loose clothing away from any moving parts on engine and tiller.
