Threshold  thresholding is used to convert a grayscale image into a bi-tonal (1 bit/pixel) image. The thresholding value ranges from 0 to 255. A low threshold value produces a lighter image, and can be used to subdue backgrounds and subtle, unneeded information. A high threshold value produces a darker image, and can be used to help pick up faint images.

Adjust the Threshold setting by dragging the Threshold sliding bar to the left or right to achieve the desired Threshold setting. Or you can enter a value (0 to 255) in the Threshold text box. Scan the document to check the threshold.

NOTE: This setting works with the Contrast setting. A Contrast setting of 0 causes the scanner to use fixed thresholding. A Contrast setting of 100 causes the scanner to use fully-adaptive thresholding.
