SP Switch function (MAP 0620)

Step 0620-013

An SRN listed in Table 1-9 on page 1-24indicated that you have a switch clock problem and Priority 2 in Table 1-10 on page 1-27directed you to this step.

1.Check the switch clock selections on the ªproblemº switches .

2.Do the clock settings on the ªproblemº SP Switches appear to be okay?

vIf yes, go to ªStep 0620-014º.

vIf no

a.Change the clock selections on the appropriate switches (refer to ªSelecting appropriate switch clocksº on page 3-6).

b.Go to ªStep 0620-043º on page 1-36 to verify fix.

Step 0620-014

The clock settings on the ªproblemº SP Switches appear to be okay.

1.Is an external clock selected?

v If yes, go to ªStep 0620-016º.

vIf no, go to ªStep 0620-015º.

Step 0620-015

An external clock is not selected. This indicates that you have a defective master clock card.

1.Is this the only switch in this system? v If yes:

a.Replace the switch assembly.

b.Go to ªStep 0620-043º on page 1-36 to verify fix.

vIf this is not the only switch in this system, go to ªStep 0620-016º.

Step 0620-016

The system you are working on either has an external clock or the system uses more than one switch.

1.Have the customer select an alternate clock (via the Eclock command.

2.Issue the Estart command.

3.Does the switch run?

v If yes, go to ªStep 0620-018º.

vIf no:

a.Replace the switch assembly.

b.Go to ªStep 0620-043º on page 1-36 to verify fix.

Step 0620-017

An SRN listed in Table 1-9 on page 1-24indicated that you have a software problem and Priority 1 in Table 1-10 on page 1-27directed you to this step.

1.From the node front panel on the control workstation, put the node in the SERVICE mode.

2.Power-on this processor node.

3.Go to ªStep 0620-018º.

Step 0620-018

At this point, you must run the advanced diagnostics in service mode on the device ªcss0º and its associated switch port.

1.Did you get an SRN from the diagnostics?

v If yes, go to ªStep 0620-020º on page 1-29.

v If no, go to ªStep 0620-019º on page 1-29.
