The console will display the download activity while the software is transferred over the network by counting received blocks. When the software has been transferred, you will see the following messages:

Network download complete. Now transferring to TS

Module(s), please wait...

Download of TS firmware complete - TS module(s) being

reinitialized...

Warning: If you use Telnet as a manager console, download activity will not be displayed.

The software image is then programmed into the FLASH memory on the module. The software image remains in memory until it is replaced. When the software installation is complete, the module is started for normal operation, and the following message is displayed:

Press <RETURN> to continue...

Note: Remember that new module software is active immediately after it is downloaded, but to activate the module’s software you must restart the switch.

Serial Download

1.From the main menu, select DownloadUpload.

2.Select Serial Link Download.

3.Select TS Firmware Download.

4.Using your terminal software, transfer the software image to the SSIM-H2-02 with the X-Modem protocol. The transfer may take several minutes, depending on your terminal emulator baud.

The software image is then programmed into the FLASH memory of the module, and will remain there until it is replaced. When the software installation is complete, the module is started for normal operation and the following message is displayed:
