Black Mark Position

The vertical position of a Black Mark is dependent on the application program that will be used to search for and print relative to the mark. The following diagram shows the optimum position when seeking the Black Mark at the beginning of a print job and will require little, if any, reverse paper motion. (Note that reverse paper motion in MLP 3040 SL models is not supported.)

The Black Mark must be printed on the front side of the paper for the MLP 3040 and MLP 3040 SL models. It may optionally be printed on the back side of the paper for use with the MLP 3040 LP models

Tear edge.

Black Mark should span width of paper for best results.
