B Configuration Files

Table B-1contains descriptions of the configuration and configuration template files used by the InfiniPath and OpenFabrics software.

Table B-1. Configuration Files

Configuration File Name

Description

/etc/infiniband/qlogic_vnic.cfg

VirtualNIC configuration file

/etc/modprobe.conf

Specifies options for modules when added

or removed by the modprobe command.

Also used for creating aliases.

For Red Hat systems

/etc/modprobe.conf.local

Specifies options for modules when added

or removed by the modprobe command.

Also used for creating aliases.

For SLES systems

/etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-

Network module file for ipath_ether

eth-id-$MAC

network interface on SLES systems. $MAC

is replaced by the MAC address.

/etc/sysconfig/ics_inic.cfg

File where VNIC Ethernet interfaces are

defined

/etc/sysconfig/infinipath

The primary configuration file for Infini-

Path, OFED modules, and other modules

and associated daemons. Automatically

loads additional modules or changes IPoIB

transport type.

/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-

Network configuration file for network inter-

<NAME>

faces. When used for ipath_ether,

<NAME> is in the form ethX, where X is

the number of the device, typically, 2, 3,

etc.

If used for VNIC configuration, name is in

the form eiocX, where X is the number

of the device. There will be one interface

configuration file for each interface defined

in /etc/sysconfig/ics_inic.cfg.
