MDI/MDI-X Slide Switch

The MDI/MDI-X slide switch is located on the front panel of the hub. This switch allows you to use Port 4 as an uplink port to connect the hub to another hub or switch. When the switch is in the MDI position, Port 4 uses the MDI pinout for an uplink port. When the switch is in the MDI-X position, Port 4 uses the MDI-X pinout to connect to a workstation or server NIC.
