6. Slide out the Compaq R6000 UPS battery packs.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the

	equipment:
34 kg	■	Observe local Occupational Safety requirements and guidelines
75 lb		for manual material handling.

■Obtain adequate assistance to lift and stabilize the assemblies during installation or removal.

■Battery Packs (2 per unit): 75 lb (34 kg)

WARNING: Batteries retain high voltage. As soon as the replacement batteries are safely in place in the UPS chassis, remove the battery connector covers, and place them on the batteries removed from the unit. Remove any jewelry; do not allow tools near the exposed battery connector port.

7.Set the battery packs safely aside to install the replacement batteries.

NOTE: Refer to “Disposing of Used Batteries” in this chapter for information on disposal of used batteries.
