Compaq DIGITAL Server Cluster Kits for Windows NT manual Intel-based Servers

Page 53

If you plan to use an existing server, check the following tables to make sure that it is supported. Pair any existing server with a new server capable of handling the workload of both servers. It is recommended that both servers provide the same basic performance capabilities (for example, purchase a second 5100 to pair with an existing 5100). Two identical servers provide for optimal performance in the event of failover, although Compaq will support non-identical Alpha-based or Intel-based DIGITAL Servers (mixed server architecture clusters are not supported). Make sure that each server has sufficient internal storage for operating system, cluster and application software.
