Using router settings and features
2 If the IP address and subnet mask must be changed, type the new IP address and subnet mask in the boxes provided, otherwise leave the default settings.
3 In the DHCP Server box, make sure that the check box is selected (default) if you want the router to provide DHCP service to your network (by assigning an IP address automatically to each computer on your network when they sign on). Click the box to remove the check only if you have another router or DHCP server on your network providing this service.
The Start IP Address is the first IP address assigned by the router. Subsequent IP addresses will increment by one until all addresses are assigned (up to the Finish IP Address). The first three fields are assigned by the router to match the router’s IP address and function correctly in the LAN.
The Finish IP Address is the last IP address assigned by the router. It determines the maximum number of IP addresses that can be assigned by the router. The first three fields are assigned by the router to match the router’s IP address and function correctly in the LAN.
4 Click Save to save your entries or Cancel to remove your changes and return to the default settings.
