4.4 Basic Channel Maintenance

The Channel Maintenance Menu is accessed from the Administrator Command Menu, and is available if you are operating in non-secure mode or if you are the system administrator. Here you can add, delete or alter individual channels.

THE CHANNEL MAINTENANCE WINDOW

Adding New Channels (base unit only)

1.Select ÔAdd channelÕ from the Channel Maintenance Menu. Type in a new channel name, up to 14 characters long, and press Enter.

2.Type in the channel number for the computer you are naming and press Enter.

3.When prompted for another cascade level, type N and press Enter.

Press Esc at any point to exit this operation without adding the channel.

Adding New Channels (with a cascaded unit)

1.Select ÒAdd channelÓ from the Channel Maintenance Menu. Type in a new channel name, up to 14 characters long, and press Enter.

2.Type in the switch channel number that corresponds to the port to which the second cascaded switch unit is attached and press Enter.
