8.4 Programme scan

 

 

 

As mentioned, your digital receiver has been pre-programm-

ed for reception of the ASTRA and EUTELSAT satellites. To

 

receive new programmes, or those of other satellites, various options are provided to preform a programme scan (search).

1. Automatic scan

Select this type of search mode to scan all satellites selected in the menu LNC Settings (Point 6.4 and 8.4) for program- mes.

2. Satellite scan

Select this search mode to scan a selected satellite for pro- grammes.

3. Transponder scan

Select this search mode to scan a specific transponder of a satellite for programmes.

4. Manual scan

Select this search mode to scan specifically for a particular programme, using the programme-specific PID numbers.

When the scan has been completed, a message will appear on screen indicating how many programmes your digital receiver has found, how many of these are new, and how many are encrypted. New programmes will be stored in the Total list, from where they can be included in the Favourites list, as per Point 8.1.

>To perform a programme scan, first call up the Main Menu. (Fig. 8-13)

>Use the up/down arrow keys to mark the line

Scan.

>Confirm by pressing OK.

The sub-menu Scan will be displayed. (Fig. 8-14)

>Use the up/down arrow keys to select a search mode, and confirm by pressing OK.

8.4.1 Automatic scan

When this search mode is used, all the available satellites included in the menu LNC settings (Points 6.4 and 9.4) will be automatically scanned for programmes. You can select whet- her you wish to scan for all programmes (encrypted and free- to-air), or only free-to-air programmes. (Fig. 8-15)
