The status of the Power and Alarm LEDs depend upon whether the NetScreen-5400 contains a single Secure Port Module (SPM) or multiple SPMs.

Note: If the NetScreen-5400 contains more than one SPM, then the system requires at least two functioning power supplies. If a second power supply is not present or is present but not turned on, then the Alarm LED is off, but a console message directing you to install and turn on another power supply appears.
