1On the Start menu, select Setup, Network and

4Ensure that the network adapter name is displayed.
4.2.2Checking the TCP/IP settings
The TCP/IP settings must be correct.
Note: If the IP address of your network adapter is set to 0.0.0.0. or 169.254.X.X (where X is a value ranging from 0 - 255), the TCP/IP protocols have not been installed or configured correctly.
Windows 95/98/ME
1On the Start menu, select Run. The Run dialog box is displayed.
